Kean Miller was named as as a Commended Student in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program. Each year, approximately 1.3 million high school students enter the National Merit Scholarship Program, but only about 34,000--or less than 3%--are named Commended Students based on their exceptional performance on the 2025 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).

A senior who is active in tennis, Model UN and the Reading Olympics, Kean hopes to study political science at American University so that he can eventually work to help people "and try to make the world a better place."
