About Exeter Township Senior High School

 

Our township is located in Southeastern Berks County, Pennsylvania. We are a suburb of the City of Reading, with a population in excess of 25,000 residents. The total enrollment of our senior high school is just over 1,300 students, with a senior class of approximately 325 students. Our schedule is based on a modified intensive block, with alternatives including (but not limited to) special education, academic support services, the Berks Career and Technology Center and school-to-career internship programs. Students have the opportunity to earn a maximum of eight credits per academic year.

Marking Systems

A student’s grade point average reflect the academic achievement of the student’s final course grades and are computed cumulatively on the basis of a 100-point scale at the conclu sion of each year. The most rigorous academic courses are weighted 1.05 for Honors courses and 1.10 for college level Advanced Placement courses. Exeter does not provide class rank.


Grade Conversion

  • 100 – 92 = A
  • 91 – 82 = B
  • 81 – 72 = C
  • 71 – 60 = D
  • 59 and below = F

Graduation Requirements

In order to graduate from Exeter Township Senior High School, students must meet the following requirements:

  • 24 credits through grades 9 through 12
  • 30 hours of community service, served at non-profit organizations

Dual Enrollment

Exeter Township Senior High School was the first school district in Berks County to enter into a dual enrollment agreement with Reading Area Community College. Exeter currently offers more than 20 courses whereby students have the opportunity to earn credits from Reading Area Community College and Immaculata University.
