Graduation Reminders

Graduation is for your Class, your Parents, your Family--and You

Congratulations on making it to graduation. There are many people who are very proud of you both in and out of school. Remember, this graduation is a graduation celebration of the Exeter Township High School Class of 2026, not an individual celebration. Although you are all being recognized individually for the hard work you displayed in order to graduate, please remember it is your parents, grandparents, friends, teachers, coaches and advisors who are watching your entire class with pride and excitement. Please leave any individual celebrations for after the ceremony. Thank you for your patience and cooperation throughout this process.

Caps & Gowns:

The cap and gown for the graduation ceremony are provided to celebrate the Class of 2026. You have been together through high school and this is the last time you will be together as a group. This ceremony is also for your parents, family, and teachers. You should look uniform; however, there are some limited opportunities for individual recognition.

Cords or a sash is permitted at the graduation ceremony if they meet one or both of the following requirements:

  • Cords or sashes must be issued directly from an ETSD organization (i.e. NHS) or the military. PMEA music awards and PIAA medals are permitted.
  • Cords or sashes that are purchased from other organizations are not permitted.
  • Homemade, personally designed, or commercially ordered cords or sashes are not permitted.
  • Cords or sashes may not be personalized or altered from their original design.

Caps may not be decorated. The cap will have the Exeter Eagle printed on each cap.

  • Other decorations to the graduation cap or gown are not permitted.
  • Graduates are not permitted to wear additional accessories on their cap and gown.
  • If you have questions about your individual circumstances, please ask prior to the last graduation practice.

Care of your Cap & Gowns:

  • Caps:
    • The tassel on your cap goes on the right until you have graduated.
    • Bring bobby pins to keep caps on
  • Gowns:
    • Cool iron (too hot will melt the fabric) or steamer
    • Hang on hanger to transport

School Obligations:

  • All school materials must be returned and outstanding fees must be paid before students can recieve their diplomas.
  • A ParentSquare and email will be sent to in May to parents and students listing any obligations that were recorded to that point.
  • Please refer to that ParentSquare or email for a list of any obligations, the cost (if not returned), and the name of the teacher/office to submit the item.
  • Obligations must be satisfied before diplomas can be be issued.
